Gratitude & Flower Power

One of the most important things we do here at Sirene MediaWorks is let our minds wander. Countless tiny details and large strategies go into a new company like ours. But giving ourselves time to ponder, go for a walk, or simply take some deep breaths allows our otherwise occupied brains to relax and do what they do best: think. We have been contemplating the design of our Thank You Books gift series for quite a while now. The idea for these books came to me last winter when we paid $9 for a frame-worthy card to add to a wedding gift. I mean, I would have framed it because it had a very beautiful quilled paper design on it. But for all I know, our friends tossed it in the trash, where most cards end up. That's when I began to think about creating a more substantial keepsake that would cost about the same as a very nice greeting card. This idea would become our Thank You Books for the most important people in our lives: moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, aunties, uncles, and others. Each page in every book has a universal sentiment that will make you smile or maybe even get a little lump in your throat. Honestly, when I read the final texts for Thank You, Dad recently, even I got a bit choked up. I hope you'll have a similar response when you see these pretty books in a shop near you. Getting back to letting our minds wander, James and I were strolling in a beautiful garden this spring and taking photos of all the gorgeous blooms. Suddenly we had the idea to use these vibrant images of flowers, leaves, and other wonders of nature as the perfect backgrounds for the pages of the Thank You Books. I'm sharing some photos of the astonishing roses we've come across recently for Thank You, Mom. How I wish you could enjoy their incredible fragrance too. Hmmmm.... Karen Seiger, Publisher
