About the Author
Sarah Beling is a writer and performer originally from Framingham, Massachusetts who moved to New York City to study acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has worked as a professional actor (and, of course, a professional hostess/server/caterer, professional babysitter and professional assistant) and began her writing career across print, digital, and theatrical mediums. She currently writes a regular arts, culture, and events column for Hell’s Kitchen-based news site W42ST and multiple other media outlets. As someone who once spent the summer before moving to New York reading her Zagat restaurant guide like a bedtime story, getting to write about the city she loves is a dream come true. Sarah lives in (where else?) New York City with her husband and daughter.
About the Photographer
Joost Heijmenberg moved to New York from the Netherlands with his wife Marjolein and their three children. A lifelong traveler, he pursues his passion for photography while exploring new places with his family. He studied earth science in Brazil and wrote his thesis from the middle of the Amazon jungle. In addition to his commercial and street photography, Joost took the photos for a children’s guide to New York City. He is General Manager of The Netherlands Club of New York, bringing Dutch culture, art, and people together. Outside of work, he's often exploring the city that keeps inspiring his photography and his love for travel.
